PattyCake Productions Releases “HOME Is" Featuring Geoff Castellucci, Eden Espinosa and a Special VoicePlay Reunion.
PattyCake Productions is inviting audiences to make room for one more with the release of “Home Is Where the Haunt Is,” an ambitious new cinematic musical short starring acclaimed bass vocalist Geoff Castellucci and Broadway favorite Eden Espinosa, with a special appearance by a former configuration of the internationally recognized vocal group VoicePlay.
Four years in the making, Home Is Where the Haunt Is is a spirited love letter to the classic dark ride, combining original music, cinematic visuals, macabre humor and a collection of eccentric supernatural residents who prove that sometimes home really is where the haunt is.
At the center of the project is Geoff Castellucci, whose unmistakable bass voice lead audiences through the otherworldly festivities. Castellucci is widely known for his solo work as well as his performances with VoicePlay, where his extraordinarily deep vocal range has helped him build an international following.
Joining him is Eden Espinosa as the murderous Bride, bringing a deliciously dark cameo to one of the mansion's most haunting inhabitants. A celebrated Broadway performer known for originating and starring in major musical theatre roles, Espinosa reunites with PattyCake Productions following her appearance as Constance Hatchaway in the studio’s Heartbreaker.
The production also features a particularly fitting musical reunion: a cameo from a former configuration of VoicePlay as the project's singing busts, lending their signature vocal harmonies to a group of stone-faced residents who are considerably more musical than their marble appearances might suggest.
For PattyCake Productions, the release marks the culmination of a creative journey that began four years ago.
“Some projects come together quickly, and others seem determined to haunt you until you finally finish them,” said Tony Wakim, co-founder of PattyCake Productions. “This was definitely the latter. The idea has evolved so much over four years, but our love for the world that inspired it never changed. Getting Geoff, Eden and this 'retired' configuration of VoicePlay together made it feel like all the pieces had finally materialized.”
Written by PattyCake Productions, 'Home Is Where the Haunt Is' continues the duo's tradition of reimagining familiar fantasy, fairy-tale and pop-culture archetypes through original music and cinematic storytelling. The production blends practical character work, elaborate costumes and atmospheric visuals with PattyCake’s signature original musical approach to create something that feels simultaneously nostalgic and entirely its own.
After four years lurking somewhere in regions beyond, the doors are finally open.
“Home Is Where The Haunt Is' is now screaming on PATREON.
